* To participate in AI World Cup, please sign up on the official AI World Cup homepage aiworldcup.org.

1. Click the sign up button at the top of the page. 

2. Choose proper group and press register button.  

It is possible to get involved in the competition as a participant or as a spectator.

If you want to participate in AI Soccer/Commentator/Reporter game by submitting your algorithm, please press participant button.
Otherwise, please press spectator button.

You cannot modify your information after you sign up.

A. Participant

  • A team leader for each team should be assigned.
  • Maximum number of the team member is 6 including team leader.
  • Because one ID is assigned per team, team leaders are required to sign up as representatives.
  • Choose the number of members including the team leader to enter information about the team members.
  • Enter the information about the  team members. Member 1 is the team leader.


B. Spectator

  • If you do not participate in the games you are able to attend tutorial sessions, keynote speech, panel discussion, and poster session as well as the main rounds after you register as a spectator.

Poster session (recommended)

  • The poster session will be held at the event venue from 11:00 to 12:00 on August 22, and there is no participation fee.
  • The poster session involves the sharing of AI technology theories and applications, presented in a poster format.
  • If you want to apply for the poster session, check ‘Poster Presentation’ when you sign up.

4. Pay registration fee

Before press “sign up” button, check if your total fee is calculated correctly.
If it is not, check your information above and modify the relevant information.
The total fee will the be recalculated.

A. Participant

  • Participants who register for preliminary rounds are not charged.
  • After the preliminary rounds, finalists can pay registration fee for main round registration on “My Account” page.
  • When the calculated total fee is correct, click the sign up button.

B. Spectator

  • Spectators pay registration fee when they sign up.
  • When the calculated total fee is correct, click the GO CHECKOUT button and pay registration fee.

5. Check if you can log in to this website.

When you fill in all of the boxes and click signup button at the bottom of the page, the following green window will appear after a while.

After your registration is successfully completed you will be notified via email and you can log in to the AI World Cup official website.
You can see your information on ‘My Account’ page. [My Account]-[Profile Details]

6. [Participant only] Download Webots simulator and build your algorithm.

Click the ‘SIMULATOR DETAILS’ button to see details about the simulator installation and example codes.
Please read this part carefully.

Before you start to work please refer to the demo videos, rules and scoring criteria.

***  SIMULATOR DETAILS and SOCCER RULE will be open to public during development period (April 1st – July 15th) ***

7. [Participant only] Run your code on the web simulator.

On the web simulator page, you can test if your code runs well in the competition simulator.
Please make sure to test it on the web simulator before submitting your code for the AI World Cup 2018.

8. [Participant only] Submit your code.

Your last code submission on web simulator will be the final submission. Please send a confirmation mail to aiwc@rit.kaist.ac.kr.

  • AI Soccer / AI Commentator / AI Reporter : All teams who have finished the online submission are qualified for the qualifying round.
  • Please enter the email address accurately because we contact you via email.
  • Please check your email often to make sure you don’t miss important information.
  • Check important dates.
